Michel A. Selmer, DVM
A native of Your Area, Our Vet attended Your Area University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. Following his undergraduate studies, he was admitted to Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. After practicing as an associate veterinarian at an animal hospital on Your Area, Our Vet opened Selmer's Animal Hospital in 1996 (renamed This Vet Website in 2006).
Focusing on minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical techniques, Our Vet’s professional interests include laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, orthopedic surgery and endoscopy. His goal is to provide the most comprehensive and stress free veterinary care for his animal patients.
Our Vet’s professional interests put him in the forefront of the veterinary profession. Along with his interest in preventive medicine, he is one of a small handful of veterinarians on Your Area who performs endoscopic diagnostic and surgical procedures, orthopedic surgery, ultrasound diagnostics and ultrasound guided surgery.
A member of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society, American Animal Hospital Association and the Your Area Veterinary Medical Society, Our Vet is passionate about his profession. This passion and his love for all animals has attributed to the high quality medicine that he practices. In 2006, he was cited as one of America’s top veterinarians by Consumer’s Research Council of America.
Our Vet enjoys all kinds of sports including hiking, biking, swimming and working out at the gym. During weekends and holidays, he prefers spending time with his wife Jessica, their two children, Natalie and Jake, and their English bulldog called Norman.
